Recipe for Shillelagh Law: 1) Start with a mix of rowdy Irish and Scottish pub songs, lightning-fingered jigs and reels, a
cappella sea shanties in four-part harmony, and an occasional moving Celtic ballad.
Shillelagh Law has been an institution in the Birmingham Irish community for a number of years and through several personnel changes. The band first came together in March of 1999 when Bailey’s Irish Pub opened up in Birmingham's Southside. Energetic guitarist/vocalist Beau Goss, fiddler Leo McDermott, bassist Jeremy Burns, and bodhran player Beth Wetheral packed out the house every Sunday night. The current lineup is:
